and the acronym for today is...

S.H.I.T.
SO HAPPY IT'S THURSDAY!!!
the weekend is almost here,
thanks the gods!
i don't know about you, but i'm flat out spent.
i remember monday, vaguely,
tuesday is a blur.
wednesday....that was yesterday, right?
what will this fancy thursday bring me?
(cookies?  i love me some cookies!)
so far, mr. thursday has given me cold java, a headache, this pain on my shoulder, and rain.
good morning?  not so much.
i'm going to press the restart button and take some pain relievers.
i may even be so bold as to brew my own java.
(i said may...relax)
with that thought in mind, how about we restart the day together?
shall we look at a pretty picture?
maybe flip through a pretty magazine?
yes!
both!
i just ordered this:
Spoonful
i'm super excited to get my copy!
did you order yours?
(the lovely thea would be all sorts of happy if you did)
and did you see yesterday's whimsies?
lots of pretty pictures to see there.
oh, and this shoppe?
isn't this pretty?
Faerie Moon Creations
and this?
how frockin' cute is this?!?
Gracefulcrafts
ok,i hope your day is filled with sunshine, rainbows, unicorns and mochas.

happy monday

happy monday, my sweets!
during my morning perusing of all the tweets, emails, and blogger updates,
i happened upon another fabulous treasure:
link
 oh, how adorable it is!
there are so many little projects to choose from.

link
their whole focus is on reusing, upcycling, reclaiming, creating.
my favorite is the painted butterflies.

link
94 pages of ad-free creativity!
94 pages!!!

link
you should really go to Nuno Magazine and order your very own.
it's a super steal for the price
($3.75 USD....really.)
happy monday, my sweets!

monday, monday

if only it were this serene for a monday...
nope, not today.
as a matter of fact, i have yet to meet a monday with the glee that my sister does.  she loves it.  she looks forward to it.
she's nuts.
but, on the upside....i did have java.
so, my beautiful readers, i wish you a happy monday,
despite the fact that it IS monday.

why is the java always gone?

daylight savings time.
the most ridiculous of all US traditions.
i'm up before the gods.  seriously.
it took 3 hits to the snooze button just to wake my sleepy arse up.
we're not even going to talk about the java.
iron man usually leaves me a hefty cup.
ok.
we'll talk about the java.
a half a cup??!!
WTH???
Ballistik Coffee Boy
you all know i don't make coffee.
i despise making coffee.
it's just so much tastier when the iron man does it for me.
i was spoiled all weekend.
this was the first weekend in 6 that he was home for both days of the weekend.
he's been working long hours to finish the job and we haven't had a tidy house in forever.  when he works overtime...yes,
i work overtime.
the house is a mess, the trolls are a mess, the moose is a mess
(he's always a mess...and smells like he rolled in a bag of laundry left in the washer for 2 days because you forgot to transfer it to the dryer).
so, this weekend, we focused on tidying up this mess.

Corbis Images
the house is clutter free, the "gorgeous" kitchen is clean, the moose got a bath, and the yard is free of sweet gum balls.
we grilled out all weekend, rode bikes, had the windows and doors open.
fabulous.
thinking about the lovely weekend makes me feel a bit better,
but i still think i need more java.
i think i'll break down and brew a bit.
maybe if i had a french press, i wouldn't have to make so much.
yes, i would like a french press.
i'm rambling.
happy monday.

i meant to do my work today...

this is for my new blogger buddy, sheena, from

I meant to do my work today
Richard Le Gallienne
I meant to do my work today
But a brown bird sang in the apple tree,
And a butterfly flitted across the field,
And all the leaves were calling me.

sammydavisdog

And the wind went sighing over the land,
Tossing the grasses to and fro,
And a rainbow held out its shining hand-
So what could I do but laugh and go?

what haven't YOU done today?
i planned on going to the library, but we'll just see about that.

mea culpa...

i have something to confess....
i made a faux pas.
all new bloggers do, i've been told.
seems that there's a particular code that one must follow when using an alias while commenting.
i didn't really know it was so.....bad.
so , here it is:
I AM MISS CHARLOTTE
i don't want to be misleading to my favorite readers...
please forgive me.
let me explain...
once upon a time,
in a summer long ago,
there were 3 women on an extraordinary adventure.
one of those women (me) began a blog (this one) as a sort of practice space for her inner writer to help on her adventure.
time passed, and one of the women left the adventure.
another of the three moved far, far away.
leaving the last woman (me) all alone...
(ducks)
i was handed the adventure on a platter with a little tag that said
"eat me"
"drink me"
"carry on(and don't drop me)"
and so, the woman (me) took the platter,
set in on her china cabinet
(because it would be very safe there from the mean ol' nasty moose tail)
and started to find places to fit her adventure in.
she(me) found all sorts of lovely little worlds!
she(me) began to leave little love notes in these worlds using her super secret code name:
Miss Charlotte.
then one day, one of the women (who moved far far away) told her that it was misleading, it was a naughty practice, come clean....now.
so here i am,
begging my readers....
please don't be mad.
i made a faux pas.
i'm human.
(and i'm the pretty woman in the story who was left all alone, you can't be upset at the main character when that happens...can you?)
can you ever forgive me?
*<-----this is a tear spot.
i'm still planning on keep both sites,
this one will be a bit more personal than
i do hope i haven't offended you, my treasured readers.
i'm new.
pardonnez-moi

is it monday.....again???

hello, mes amis!
here we are again...monday.
i've got my java
(the lonely one cup...must teach iron man to drink less.)
i've been crazy busy these last few days.
i have a friend who is evil beyond evil.
she wants to make a better writer out of me.
wants to teach me to pull ideas out of my wee little arse.
thinks i have alot of ideas bottled up and has made it her mission to help me find a bottle opener.
i hate her.
she wants me to do this in a crazy ass amount of time:
3 DAYS.
yes,
3.

jbguess

so, if i'm absent-minded for the next few days,
it's because she's forced me to think and write more than i ever did as feature editor for my high school newspaper for two years.
as much as i think she's spawn of Pan,
i love her.
she wouldn't be forcing  me to squeeze every little bit of creative whim out of
every
frackin'
brain cell
if she didn't think i could do it.
she rocks.
she's a rock star.
happy monday, ya'll.

doin' a little happy dance...

and a happy morning to all!
the daffodils have sprouted,
the tulips have peeked out of the leaves,
we all know my crocus flowers have already greeted us...
THIS, my friends, is a good day.
remember this post?
well, it seems that our friends at
photo: Les Bonnes Idees

have decided to have a little
it's fantastic!
you simply MUST have a go at it.
and i do hope you win...
because i want you to.
Thea and i, we're buds...and she's simply amazing.
go there,
now.
win.

what i found today...

first things first,
a very happy birthday to frannie...
she would have been 85 today.
i miss her.
but we all know that once the heels were found,
it was dancing time.
so i am also happy.

now, on to what i found today.
aside from finding that second cup of java
(which is a rarity in itself. iron man usually only leaves me one.)
i found this sweet little magazine.

Whipup.net Action Pack March 2011

"It’s a printable Mini-Mag for kids (aged 7+) in an easy downloadable PDF format. Priced at only $5, and with no advertising, it is jam packed with 20+ pages of craft projects, outdoor activities, cooking, drawing and more, everything a kid needs for a weekend (or two) of activities."

where was this when my trolls were teenie?
it would have been oodles of fun to flip through the pages
and find a new treasure everyday.

WhipUp.net
how fun is this?
think they'll sit with me and play if i get one?
we'll see.
i could make them play with me.
force them.
bend their wills to mine.
yes.
that would be brilliant.
(never you mind the fact that i just told little man he can't force little lady and sweetie pie to play his games of nerf assassination or zombies.)
genius, i tell you.
genius.
